I assisted Mam Mae Anne in grade 7 to teach Dewey Decimal
System. In the beginning of the lesson, I explained about library card
catalogue is. What information they find in it and how it helps them in their
visit to library.
Mam Mae Anne continued by explaining Dewey Decimal System
and the number under which certain book will be categorized. I then lead an
activity to check their understanding. We made 4 groups and played a game. I
mentioned a title of the book and the quickest group to answer the right call
number and the category gained 100 as their score. The group with the highest
score was the winner. The students were excited even thought there was not any
prize for the winner.
