When you read the title, could you
guess what the story will be about? Is it about a panther whose skin is pink?
Actually, this is a comedy movie about a detective who has to capture an
international stealer called Tornado. Main characters are Steve Martin as
Jacques Clouseau, Emily Mortimor as Nicole, Andy Garcia as Vicenzo, Yuki
Matsuzaki as Kenji, Alfred Molina as Randall and Aishwarya Rai as Sonia. This
movie is directed by Haralt Zward, and released by Columbia Pictures on February 6th,
2009 in the U.S.
Inspector Clouseau is assigned by
his boss to give him report about parking ticket situation. At the time,
Tornado has been successful stealing artifacts. They are The Magna Carta, The
Shroud of Turin and The Imperial Sword. England, Italy and Japan, which are
lost their treasure, found a team consists of genius detective from each
country to track Tornado. It is called Dream Team. France will be represented. Since
Clouseau is known as the top detective in the world, France government put him
in Dream Team. To do so, he needs to go to Japan, but he does not want. He said
that if he went out France, Tornado would strike and steal the most precious
thing there, The Pink Panther. When he steps out at airport gate, news reports
that The Pink Panther has been stolen, just like he said. As the result, his
flight to Japan is canceled. Investigation will be begun in France.
Together with others detective-
Vicenzo from Italy, Randall from England, Kenji from Japan and Sonia, a last
minute addition member,- Clouseau do the
investigation. Unfortunately, he causes the team fail to find any evidence to
know who Tornado is. Others detective is mad at him because of his attitude. They
kick him out of the team. He also has another problem. His relationship with
Nicole- a woman with whom he is in love- is getting worse. That is because he
does not want others know that they are in love. He describes Nicole with bad
words. Then without him, the rest of team announce that they have solved the
case. They find Tornado die in an apartment. He gives the treasure back except
The Pink Panther. Clouseau does not believe that man is really Tornado. Then,
news papers report that Clouseau is an idiot.
Will Clouseau be able to prove that
he is not an idiot? Where is the Pink Panther? Is that man the stealer or he is
just used by someone else? Will the story end happily? I cannot tell you, but
you can get the answer by watching this movie.
I like this movie because it is
really funny. You will laugh from the beginning until the end. Besides, the
story is interesting. Crime mystery is mixed with love story. It also leads me
curious about how it will end. Finally, it can be watched by whole family since
there is not any high violence or nudity action in this movie.
